p.s. privé

the next time i travel to paris, i'll definitely be booking a workshop with p.s. privé. i'm normally not one for guided tours and classes, preferring to explore whatever city i'm in on my own... but p.s. privé offers unique, one-of-a-kind experiences that sound too good to pass up.

how about a wine and macaron tasting with your own private sommelier at your disposal? or a perfume workshop where you take home your own custom-blended scent? or maybe a four-course french meal hosted at the home of a private chef is more up your alley.

moi?... i'll try one of each, s'il vous plaît :)

2. a candy-striped, mirrored dresser holds all my wardrobe essentials.
3. this vintage folding table is a chic solution for small spaces.
4. an ornate, luxurious daybed makes for a glamorous setting.
5. i don't smoke, but this collection of vintage ashtrays is too good to pass up.

melissa schmidt

my jaw literally dropped when i saw these incredible necklaces by melissa schmidt... they bring the idea of "wearable art" to a whole new level.

the beautiful blown glass bubbles are handmade by melissa, and a teeny tiny photo printed on slide film floats within each one. the best part? you can customize a necklace with photos of your choice... from vintage family portraits to travel souvenirs to wedding photos, the possibilities are endless! what an amazing, sweet, sentimental gift idea... i think i'm in love.

home sweet home.

{home sweet home print by the wheatfield}

big news... my husband an i closed on our very first home today!

we started looking for a home two years ago... needless to say it's been a very long process, and it feels so good to finally have a place to call our own! the house needs some tlc, so it's going to be quite a fun project for us over the next few weeks. i plan on posting photos and updates of our progress soon... stay tuned :)

flickr favorites . . . such pretty things

jessica enig's flickr photostream such pretty things is like heaven for any collector or vintage enthusiast. she photographs all her gorgeous collections, from millinery flowers to french ribbon to pastel petticoats. i only wish i had half of these sweet finds in my home!

fashion finds . . . best dressed under $50

{french girl's wardrobe photo, available in my etsy shop}

i don't know about you, but i'm always on the lookout for chic dresses that won't break the bank... so i scoured the web to find some of the cutest frocks, all for under $50!

love locks on the pont des arts

i discovered these lovely photos on the blog vita nostra... and the story that goes along with them is just as lovely.

apparently, french lovers inscribe locks with their names, significant dates, or romantic quotes. the locks are then attached to the pont des arts in paris, and the keys are thrown into the seine as a symbol of love and committment. how romantic is that? i think my husband and i will have to remember to bring a lock and key with us next time we go to paris :)
